Democratic Candidate Campaign Update

UPDATE: April 28th, 2008

"A Common Man For The Common People"
But nothing common about his fortitude, perseverance and leadership.
"It's time to adjust the Sails"
Note: The "Call Me" tab above is leave a message only.

The time is at hand. Seven days to the Primary. I have worked very hard for over a year. That effort speaks for itself. I have showed you how hard I can work; how determined I am. I have campaigned Monday through Saturday for over a year. When in Raleigh I will work this hard for you.

It seems that I have been campaigning for several years. I worked on Sheriff Jack Conner's 2006 campaign with the same zeal that I have put in my own campaign. I plan to take a two week vacation after the Primary, then back to the campaign trail against my Republican opponent.

Flash: I've met some wonderful African American leaders in Rutherford and Cleveland County. Every race of people should have equal opportunity to accomplish their desire to move higher than their circumstance. We need to equalize the proverbial circumstances through education and opportunity. All people of this district will be in my care and I will make sure equal opportunity and civil rights are afforded to all.

News Flash! Former Senator Jack Ryan is my campaign advisor. Jack was a Senator back in the 80's. Jack began as the mayor of Belmont then on the the House of Representatives and later moved on to Senator. He has been a great asset to my campaign.

The Primary elections will be here soon, May 6th, 2008. Seven days. Call every Democrat you know and remind them to vote in the Primary. Don't forget to tell them, "Vote Phil Clark, He will "Adjust the Sails".

News Flash: Saturday April 12th, I spoke to the Association of State Workers. After is was over a couple came up to me and said "Phil you seem to have fire in your veins and that is what we need in Raleigh". I stated "we have to have a change, someone must stand on the Senate floor and speak loudly".

News Flash: April 20th. We are getting a lot of yard signs out in Rutherford and Cleveland County. We need your yard for a sign in Cleveland County. If you willing call me @ 828-288-9434.

People say "How's the campaign going?" I respond, "I have handed out 10,000 cards and Clark Candy Bars. If those 10,000 people mention my name to ten people, I have reached 100,000 people so far with just those little bars. I'm working on 10,000. I predict 11,000 before the Primary arrives.

Pledge:

I promise be the best Senator this district has ever known. My only ambition is to provide what the people in District 46 need to live a normal happy life. This endeavor will take someone with the fortitude to stand up and speak loudly on the Senate floor. This is not a job for a mild mannered person, but a person that is fearless with a Generals spirit. I will charge the front with deep determination and perseverance. I will have one and only one agenda when I arrive in Raleigh, "Adjust the sails" and make a real change. I promise you that I will not vote for any increase in taxes on any level. I will work hard to promote jobs with my "Build a Door" program. I will work to get the 65 year old senior average income exemption on property tax increased to $50,000 instead of the $25,000 for retired seniors. In other words you can make $50,000 annual income and still qualify for the 50% reduction on your property tax. Also, I will work hard to put a cap on senior citizens property tax.

Last December we made history. Never in memory, I'm told, has there been a political candidate campaign by having a float in the Christmas Parades. We reached a lot of people with this one. It was the Shelby Parade, Spindale/Rutherfordton Parade and Ellenboro Parade. We had a wonderful time.

I made a pledge at the beginning of my campaign that after elected I would have a sit-down dinner, (Supper to some of you), with one family from Cleveland and Rutherford counties once a month. I will ask you to mail me your invitation and I will pick one family from each county every month. I want to know what the people of my district need and I want to stay in touch with the people to whom I am a servant. Senator starts with an S, that S stands for Servant. There has to be changes made. Old politics has to go. If you agree call your neighbors and friends now and tell them to vote Phil Clark. A vote for Phil is the next best thing to going to Raleigh yourself.

We need your financial support. Any amount is helpful. Mail in your support today. Make your checks out to: Phil Clark for NC Senate, send to: 146 Phil's Circle, Rutherfordton, NC 28139

We also need volunteers. We need people at every precinct May 6th. If you desire to help, please call our headquarters at this number, 828-288-9434. I would like to thank all of you who have volunteered your time or donated funds. A very special thanks to my campaign committee. God bless you all, I'm very, very grateful, for each and every one of you. Special thanks to Brad Whitener. Brad has been by my side helping tremendously. A true friend indeed.

God Bless District 46
